  1. Chocolate açaí smoothie topped with cacao nibs

    Chocolate Açaí Pudding Smoothie

I called this chocolate-açaí smoothie a pudding smoothie, because that's what it tastes like. More accurately, it tastes like something of a cross between pudding and chocolate-raspberry cheesecake. Either way, it's absolutely delicious. I'm happy to use this to replace dessert, without feeling like I'm missing anything at all.

The flavors in this smoothie are so nicely balanced, as the cacao brings out the açaí's flavor, and the bananas and yogurt add creaminess. It's a little bit of an indulgence, but as indulgences go, this one's relatively healthy!

  2. Soothing Vegan Hot Cacao with Maca Root (for Stress and Anxiety Relief!)

When I quit coffee, I felt so much better after only a few days (if you want more information on that, click here). But I was feeling a little lost without a comforting warm drink to start my day off with. So I started drinking this hot cacao with maca root. (Cacao is just the raw form of cocoa. Personally, it tastes equally chocolatey to me, but feel free to use cocoa if you prefer!)

This version of hot cacao has maca root, which is a type of natural stress-reliever known as an adaptogen. I like to drink it in a hot beverage like hot cacao because I personally find the maca root more effective when it's heated slightly.

  3. Could Olive Leaf Extract Effectively Treat COVID-19? My experience using natural medicine for the new coronavirus

In mid-March 2020, I contracted COVID-19 through my work as an essential worker. At that time, social distancing wasn't a thing, and there was a mask shortage. Olive leaf extract helped me keep my symptoms under control and recover more quickly.

The topic of natural medicine is one that I'm hesitant to write or talk about with the general public, because of how it may be perceived. For some people, discussing natural medicine is seen as equally irresponsible as a politician suggesting that people inject bleach or suggesting random unproven drugs as a treatment. (Please don't do either of those things. They are both harmful.) As if to prove my point, YouTube removed the video that I had posted about my experience from their platform.

  4. How to Change the Way You Eat, Forever (Creating a new food lifestyle that you won't want to cheat on!)

I've changed my diet many times in my life. At the age of 10, I abruptly stopped eating meat. In my 20s, I switched over to a mainly organic diet and started cutting out most junk food and fast food. In my 30s, I gradually went vegan. Every time I made a change to my diet, I used different approaches and techniques. Some were better than others. But I didn't "go on a diet." Instead, I changed my eating habits. I've been able to sustain all these changes over the long term, without feeling like I'm missing out on anything. This is how I did it (and how you can too!)

Note: I personally am vegan and eat mostly organic foods, but these methods can be applied to any changes you want to make to your diet, whether it's cutting out sugar, eating whole foods, or any other diet change you want to make. I'm not here to tell you what you should or shouldn't be eating, because that's up to you!
